R-Drive Image is a powerful utility that provides the creation of disk image files for backup or duplication purposes. The disk image file contains an exact byte copy of a hard drive, partition, or logical disk and can be created with various levels of compression without stopping the Windows operating system and thus without interrupting the work of friend. These drive image files can then be stored in a variety of places, including various removable media such as CD-R (W) / DVD, Iomega Zip or Jazz, etc.
R-Drive Image – Create data backup image file
The R-Drive Image software restores images on original disks, on any other partitions or even on free hard drive space. To restore the system and other locked partitions, the R-Drive Image is put in hypocritical mode directly from Windows or a bootable version created by the utility launched from a CD or disc. Using R-Drive Image, you can completely and quickly recover your system after heavy data loss caused by operating system crash, virus attack or hardware failure. You can also use R-Drive Image for batch system deployment when you need to set up multiple identical computers. In other words, you can just manually set up one system, create an image of the system and then deploy it on all other computers, saving you time and money.
R-Drive Image functions and features
- Simple wizard interface does not require specialized computer management skills.
- Quick action: Image files are created quickly, with no need to stop and restart Windows. All other recordings are stored in the buffer until the image is created. Data from image files is also quickly recovered, except on a system partition. Data entered the system partition can be restored by restarting the R-Drive Image in pseudo-graphical mode directly from Windows or by using specially created boot disks.
- Compress image files. Image files can be compressed to save free storage space.
- Portable media support. Image files can be stored on removable media.
- Boot version. A boot version can be used to partition images / restore / copy locked by the OS. The computer can be rebooted into bootable version directly from Windows or from an external USB device, CD / DVD or 6 floppy disks. The boot version can use the graphical user interface or pseudo-graphics mode, if the graphics card is not supported. Support booting UEFI for modern computers.
- Supports USB 2.0 and 3.0 in boot version. With the price of hard drives constantly falling, an external IDE-USB 2.0 or 3.0 hard drive housing with the right hard drive is the ideal (fast and reliable) solution for storing backup files for systems and partitions. The other can only be restored in the boot version. Don’t use a lot of unreliable CDs and slow CD / DVD recorder anymore. Remember: with the incremental backup, this hard drive isn’t too big.
- Network support in boot version. R-Drive Image boot version supports creating and restoring disk image files over Microsoft network (CIFS protocol).
- Expanded list of supported devices in the launch version. The list of hardware supported by R-Drive Image boot versions has been expanded.
- An image file can be connected as a read-only virtual disk. Such disks can be browsed and files / folders can be found and copied.
- Recovers individual files and folders. Individual files and buffers instead of entire disks can be recovered during recovery or from connected image files as virtual disks.
- Split image file. The drive image can be divided into several files to fit the storage media.
- Image protection. Disk image files can be password protected and contain comments
- Create new partitions. Data from the disk image can be recovered on a free (unlinked) space on any location on the hard drive. The size of the restored partition can be changed.
- Replace the partition. Data from disk image can be restored on other existing partitions. R-Drive Image deletes such partitions and restores data on that free space.
- Copy to disc. The entire disc can be directly copied to another disc.
- Verify image file. You can check if your image files are good before you store them or recover data from them.
- Scheduling. The time to create the disk image can be scheduled and the process can be run in unattended mode.
- Scribble for routine or unattended actions. Such scripts for creating an image file and appending data to an existing image file are generated from the R-Drive Image interface the same way as to perform an actual action. Scripts are executed from one command line, and that command can be put into any command file.
- Action Report. When the disk image is successfully created or the action fails, the report can be automatically sent via e-mail or an external application can be launched.
- Support for the ReFS (Resilient File System) file system, a new local file system that Microsoft introduced in Windows 2012 Server. All disk actions are supported except for partition resizing.
- Full support for GPT partition layout. R-Drive Image can create GPT disks, resize them and change their partition layout during copy / restore operations.
